On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 are expected to get impacted as global markets experience mixed trends amid a stronger US dollar following U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement of tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and additional tariffs on China. At 08:41 AM, Gift Nifty was trading down by 0.24% at 24,295.

Previous Trading Session

On November 25, 2024, Sensex rose 1,961.32 points, or 2.54%, to close at 80,109.85, while the Nifty50 climbed 314.65 points, or 1.32%, to end at 24,221.90.

FII and DIIs

On November 25, 2024, DIIs sold securities worth ₹24,532.72 crore, while FIIs bought securities worth ₹85,251.94 crore.

Put Call Ratio (PCR)

Nifty’s PCR has shifted to 1.03 in the previous session. A PCR ratio below 0.7 or heading toward 0.5 denotes a bearish trend, whereas a ratio above 0.7 or approaching 1 typically suggests a positive sentiment.

The increasing PCR, which is higher than 0.7 or surpasses 1, means traders are selling more Put options than Call options, which generally indicates the firming up of a bullish sentiment in the market. If the ratio falls below 0.7 or moves towards 0.5, then it indicates selling Call Options is higher than selling Put options, reflecting a bearish mood in the market.

Oil Prices

Oil prices extended their decline from the previous session. Brent crude futures fell 28 cents (0.38%) to $72.73 a barrel by 0106 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped 32 cents (0.46%) to $68.62 a barrel.

Asian Markets

In Asia, on Tuesday, Japan’s Nikkei share average dropped over 1%, reflecting concerns over Trump’s tariff commitments, while South Korea’s KOSPI slipped 0.4%.

US Markets

Wall Street closed Monday on a positive note. The S&P 500 rose 17.81 points (0.30%) to 5,987.15, the Nasdaq Composite climbed 51.50 points (0.27%) to 19,055.15, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 439.02 points (0.99%) to close at 44,735.53.
