On November 23, 2024, Adani Energy Solutions, addressed clarification requests from the BSE and NSE following media reports of Kenya’s president cancelling a 30-year partnership deal.

Project Award Clarification

On October 9, 2024, the company was awarded a project related to the construction of transmission lines, which was mentioned in the media report. Following this, the company set up a subsidiary in Kenya, a move disclosed to the stock exchanges on November 8, 2024.

The company clarified that this project does not require additional disclosure under the SEBI Listing Regulations. According to the regulations, companies must notify the stock exchanges about certain contract changes, such as cancellations, only if they fall outside of normal business operations.

Since the project is part of the company’s regular business activities, which include energy transmission and distribution, any potential cancellation would also not require a special disclosure.

Airport Project Clarification

The company clarified that neither it nor its subsidiaries are involved in any airport projects mentioned in the media report or have signed any contracts related to airports in Kenya. The company confirmed that the media report concerning the airport project does not pertain to them or their subsidiaries.

The Adani Group addressed inquiries from stock exchanges regarding reports that Kenyan President William Ruto had directed the cancellation of a procurement process that was set to grant control of the nation’s primary airport.

Share Price Performance

On November 25, 2024, Adani Energy Solutions’ share price traded 4.89% higher at ₹680.70 at 9:55 AM on NSE. The stock opened at ₹678.20, up from its previous close of ₹648.90.
