Bharti Airtel, one of India’s top telecom providers, announced that it has successfully completed the deployment of additional spectrum it acquired in July 2024.

This includes an extra 5 MHz in the 2100 band and 3.8 MHz in the 900 band, strengthening Airtel’s 5G/4G network capacity. As a result, customers will experience faster data speeds and improved coverage, especially indoors, in both urban and rural areas.

With this deployment, Airtel users in regions like Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh Ladakh will benefit from enhanced service quality for both voice and data. The expanded network will also provide better coverage along highways and railways and extend Airtel’s reach in rural areas, where the demand for reliable connectivity is rapidly growing.

Adarsh Verma, COO of Jammu and Kashmir, Bharti Airtel, said, “Airtel’s commitment to superior network performance is unwavering. With the integration of this new spectrum, customers across the state can now enjoy enhanced call connectivity, faster data speeds and an overall improved performance. We remain committed to Jammu‐Kashmir and leh Ladakh and will continue to invest in technologies that will help elevate the service experience for our customers.”

Bharti Airtel recently secured 97 MHz of spectrum in the latest Spectrum Auction. The company not only renewed its expiring spectrum but also expanded its Sub-GHz spectrum and streamlined its fragmented spectrum into continuous blocks. Airtel now holds the largest amount of mid-band spectrum. With its wide range of spectrum across the 900, 1800, 2100, and 2300 bands, Airtel is well-equipped to meet the increasing demand for high-speed data through its 5G and 4G networks. Additionally, it has begun reallocating mid-band spectrum for 5G to handle the growing data needs.
