BEML Limited has secured a significant contract from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of a 50-ton heavy-duty trailer, valued at ₹83.51 crore. This achievement reflects BEML’s expertise in providing advanced, indigenous solutions to strengthen India’s defence infrastructure.
The 50-ton trailer is specially designed for transporting battle tanks and is built to withstand challenging terrains. It features 12 twin-wheels for enhanced durability and stability, along with a payload capacity of 50 tonnes. The trailer is engineered to be towed by the BEML HMV 8×8 vehicle, ensuring reliable and efficient transport capabilities.
The trailer includes several advanced features, such as a steerable turntable with 55-degree rotation in both directions, a twin-line air brake system, emergency brakes, and mechanically operated parking brakes. The rear chassis frame is equipped with fixed, hinged, and loose ramps, facilitating the seamless loading of tanks.
This contract highlights BEML’s commitment to innovation and self-reliance in supporting India’s defence sector. It further cements the company’s position as a trusted partner in enhancing the operational readiness of the Indian Army.
