On November 20, 2024, Bharti Aitel announced that Nokia will deploy advanced equipment from its 5G AirScale portfolio, including base stations, baseband units, and the newest Massive MIMO radios.
These solutions will enhance Airtel’s network by boosting 5G capacity and coverage, while also facilitating the evolution of its network infrastructure. Additionally, Nokia will upgrade Airtel’s current 4G network with multiband radios and baseband equipment, which are also 5G-capable.
Airtel will leverage Nokia’s MantaRay Network Management system for enhanced monitoring and management of its network, utilising AI-powered tools for digital deployment, optimisation, and technical assistance.
Nokia has partnered with Airtel for more than 20 years, supplying equipment for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. Their collaboration has recently expanded with the launch of the Green 5G Initiative, focused on enhancing the energy efficiency of Airtel’s network and lowering carbon emissions to support the company’s bold emission reduction goals.
On, November 21, 2024, Bharti Airtel share price closed 0.10% lower at ₹1,524 on NSE. The stock opened at ₹1,538 before dipping to the day’s low of ₹1,511. The Bharti Airtel share price has dropped by 1.62% over the past week.
