At 2 pm, the shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals were trading at Rs 101.10, up by 3.43% from its previous closing of Rs 97.75 on the BSE. 

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has achieved a major milestone with the successful synchronisation of the 660 MW Unit-2 of the 1,320 MW Maitree Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) in Bangladesh. The synchronisation of the unit has been done ahead of the commitment given at a high level G2G meeting, which was a very tough target even at the time it was given. 

The 2×660 Maitree STPP is located at Rampal, Mongla, Bagerhat, Bangladesh, and is being set up by BHEL for the Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company (BIFPCL), a 50:50 joint venture between the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and NTPC. The project is a symbol of successful cooperation between India and Bangladesh and is a priority infrastructure development project for Bangladesh aimed at establishing reliable, cost-effective, base-load power production in the country.  

The company is an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer engaged in design, engineering, manufacture, erection, testing, commissioning and servicing of a wide range of products and services for the core sectors of the economy, viz. Power, transmission, Industry, transportation, renewable energy, Oil & Gas and defence. 

Today, the stock opened at Rs 97.76 and has touched a high and low of Rs 101.80 and Rs 97.76 respectively. 

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high and low of Rs 101.80 and Rs 51.40, respectively. 

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 101.80 and Rs 94.11respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 35,405.62crore. 

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.17%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.07% and 12.76% respectively.
