Blue Star Limited announced its financial results for Q1 FY 2025, reporting a 28.7% growth in consolidated revenue. The company’s Revenue from Operations rose significantly by 28.7% to ₹2,865.37 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2024, compared to ₹2,226.00 crore during the same period in the previous year.

The Operating Profit (EBITDA excluding Other Income and Finance Income) for the quarter increased by 64% to ₹237.83 crore, which represents 8.3% of revenue, up from ₹145.00 crore (6.5% of revenue) in Q1 FY2024. Profit Before Tax grew by 98.9% to ₹226.02 crore in Q1 FY2025, compared to ₹113.61 crore in Q1 FY2024. Net Profit for the quarter more than doubled, rising by 102.4% to ₹168.76 crore compared to ₹83.37 crore reported in the same period of the previous year.

Strong operating performance during the quarter contributed to healthy cash flow. As a result, Other Income, including treasury income, increased to ₹23.77 crore in Q1 FY2025, compared to ₹9.40 crore in Q1 FY2024.

Segment-wise Performance

Segment-wise, revenue from Segment 1, which includes Electro-Mechanical Projects, Commercial Air Conditioning Systems, Service, and International Business, grew by 9.5% to ₹1,038.99 crore in Q1 FY2025, compared to ₹949.12 crore in Q1 FY2024. The Segment Result for Q1 FY2025 was ₹103.03 crore (9.9% of revenue) compared to ₹66.62 crore (7.0% of revenue) in Q1 FY2024.

Unitary Products, comprising Room ACs and Commercial Refrigeration products, reported a robust revenue growth of 44.3% to ₹1,729.52 crore in Q1 FY2025, up from ₹1,198.45 crore in Q1 FY2024. The Segment Result was ₹158.03 crore (9.1% of revenue) in Q1 FY2025 compared to ₹89.34 crore (7.5% of revenue) in Q1 FY2024.

The Professional Electronics and Industrial Systems Business also saw revenue growth of 23.5%, reaching ₹96.86 crore in Q1 FY2025, compared to ₹78.43 crore in Q1 FY2024. However, the Segment Result for this business was ₹9.60 crore (9.9% of revenue) in Q1 FY2025, down from ₹10.49 crore (13.4% of revenue) in the same quarter last year.

Commenting on the financial performance for the quarter, the Chairman and Managing Director of Blue Star Limited, Vir S. Advani, said, “The year has commenced on a strong note, marked by a record demand for room air conditioners. We expect sustained growth driven by good demand, from the introduction of new products across all product categories and a strong carried-forward order book.”

He also added, “In order to capitalise on future opportunities and enhance our competitiveness, we will continue to make investments in manufacturing, research and development and digitalisation initiatives and, at the same time, continue to be prudent in capital allocation. While we remain optimistic about the prospects for the rest of the fiscal year, the geopolitical developments across the globe, especially in the Middle East, is a matter of concern.”
