Bengaluru-based real estate giant Brigade Enterprises has launched Brigade Citrine, India’s first net-zero residential project, setting a new benchmark for sustainable urban living. The project was valued at an estimated ₹500 crore in Gross Development Value (GDV), marking a step in Brigade Enterprises’ journey toward achieving its goal of net-zero emissions by 2045.

A Pioneering Initiative in Sustainable Housing

Located on a 4.3-acre site in Budigere Cross, Whitefield, Brigade Citrine comprises 420 meticulously designed residential units, offering configurations ranging from 1 BHK to 4 BHK homes. The project leverages renewable energy to power all common area lighting and incorporates advanced water conservation technologies, which are projected to save approximately 8,900 tankers of water annually.

“This project exemplifies our vision for sustainable living and our commitment to combating climate change,” said Pavitra Shankar, Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises. “Brigade Citrine represents a significant milestone as we work towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.”

Strong Sales Performance Fuels Optimism

The launch of Brigade Citrine comes on the back of a robust sales performance by Brigade Enterprises during the first half of the fiscal year. Approximately 50% of the company’s sales were driven by five to six new project launches. Despite delays in obtaining necessary approvals, the company remains upbeat about its growth trajectory.

“We will still see the launches; it’s just a matter of timing,” Shankar noted, reflecting the company’s confidence in regulatory fillings.

Future Expansion Plans Across South India

Brigade Enterprises is gearing up for further expansion in H2 FY25, with significant new launches planned in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru. In Chennai alone, the company has a 12-million-square-foot pipeline focused on mid-segment housing. This pipeline is expected to drive a considerable portion of Brigade’s bookings in the second half of the fiscal year.

On December 19, 2024, Brigade Enterprises share price traded down by 1.14% at 1,262.40 on BSE at 10:02 AM (IST).
