Gateway Distriparks has commenced its double-stack rail transportation services between its Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Ahmedabad (Viramgam) to Mundra Port for its Export-Import (EXIM) trade customers. This key development will significantly enhance operational efficiency, improve asset productivity for the company’s 31 trains and ultimately reduce the overall cost of logistics for the trade while expediting container evacuation at the port and its Inland Container Depots (ICDs). The first double stack train was flagged off by Indian Railways officials from Ahmedabad Division on June 29.

Earlier this month, Gateway Distriparks successfully operated a container train on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) from its Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Faridabad, Haryana to Mundra Port in Gujarat. This achievement marked an important step towards the connectivity of Gateway Distriparks on the DFC network using its second ICD in the National Capital Region.

Gateway’s flagship ICD in Gurgaon is already connected with DFC via New Ateli. The train was flagged off from ICD Faridabad on June 02, 2023, it arrived at the port on June 03, 2023, with a transit time of 30-32 hours. Earlier, the transit time between ICD Faridabad and Mundra port was 56 hours using the traditional Indian Railways network.

Track doubling work between ICD Faridabad and the DFC hub station Prithla is currently in progress and expected to complete by September 2023. This will enable Gateway Distriparks to run double-stack trains from ICD Faridabad to Mundra and Pipavav port using DFC Network. ICD Faridabad is situated in the Delhi NCR region and is well-connected to the state highway and the rail network. The facility is spread over 65 acres and has a container handling capacity of 1.5 lakh TEUs per annum.

Gateway Distriparks is one of the market leaders in the container freight stations (CFS) business with facilities at Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Kochi.

Today, the stock opened at Rs 71.16, with a high and low of Rs 73.42 and Rs 71.16. It is currently trading at Rs 72.62, up by 0.75%
