Gensol Engineering Ltd, a leading player in solar power EPC services and electric mobility, has secured a significant order valued at ₹463 crore. The project involves the engineering, design, procurement, erection, testing, and commissioning a 500 MW solar plant at the Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park in Gujarat.

This state-of-the-art solar plant will feature a fixed tilt module mounting structure and is scheduled for completion by 2025. Notably, this project represents one of the largest single-location BESS installations globally, solidifying Gensol’s position as a major player in India’s burgeoning solar energy sector.

The award underscores Gensol’s expertise in executing large-scale renewable energy projects and its commitment to contributing to India’s clean energy goals. With this project, Gensol further strengthens its presence in the solar power market and reinforces its reputation as a reliable and innovative EPC service provider.

Speaking on the order win, Ms Shilpa Urhekar, Chief Executive Officer, Solar EPC (India), Gensol Engineering Limited, shared, “We are excited to win this prestigious order from a leading IPP. This win demonstrates the trust in the leadership of Gensol’s project management capabilities and execution expertise. Our understanding of customer needs, excellent engineering track record coupled with our commitment to deliver high-quality renewable solutions have been instrumental behind our string of wins. As a result, we are currently executing solar projects for a number of marquee customers, totalling approximately 1 GW. This is enabling us to create the foundation for an exciting future.”

Previously, Gensol won a contract for 116 MW (150 MWp) of solar projects in Gujarat with approx. EPC revenue of ₹600 Crores. The company added that these projects will be distributed across 27 diverse locations, all under the purview of Paschim Gujarat Vij Co. Ltd. (PGVCL), the state electricity distribution company.

These projects look for feeder-level solarisation and are likely to be operational within 12 months after the issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA). The solarisation of agricultural feeders that are either already segregated or primarily serve agricultural loads by installing grid-connected solar projects to meet their annual power requirements.
