Godrej Agrovet (GAVL) has joined hands with US-based Provivi to bring innovative pest control solutions to Indian farmers. The partnership focuses on introducing sustainable pheromone-based products to tackle pests affecting rice and corn crops.

Exclusive Distribution of Advanced Eco-Dispensers

Under this agreement, GAVL will distribute Provivi’s YSB Eco-Dispenser, which is designed to control the yellow stem borer pest in rice crops. Additionally, GAVL has secured exclusive rights in India for the FAW Eco-Dispenser, which is aimed at combating fall armyworm in corn.

Sustainable Solutions for a Changing Climate

With climatic changes causing a rise in pest infestations, GAVL Managing Director Balram Singh Yadav emphasised the importance of equipping Indian farmers with eco-friendly technologies. The biodegradable products are expected to be available to farmers by 2029.

India, a leading exporter of rice and a major corn producer faces persistent pest-related challenges that raise production costs. The partnership will leverage GAVL’s vast distribution network to deliver Provivi’s solutions to millions of farmers dependent on these crops.

Corey Huck, CEO of Provivi, highlighted the opportunity to expand their reach in India, one of the fastest-growing agricultural markets in the world.

While the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, this collaboration marks a significant step towards reducing the environmental impact of pest management in India’s agribusiness sector.
