In a stock exchange filing, the company stated, “We would like to inform you that on September 18, 2024, the company received a confirmation from the customer to buy and deliver an additional four multi-purpose vessels on the existing terms and conditions.”
The vessels will be designed, built, and delivered over 33 months from the original contract signing date. The deal does not involve any related party transactions. KG signed a contract.
Each of the 120-meter-long and 17-meter-wide vessels can transport 7,500 tonnes of cargo. To carry bulk, general, and project cargoes, each vessel will have a single cargo hold with the option to carry containers on hatch covers. Additionally, the ships were built to carry several large windmill blades on deck. This raises the total contract value for the design and building of eight 7,500 DWT multipurpose vessels to about $108 million.
