Havells to expand Air-Conditioner Manufacturing capacity

Home appliances manufacturer Havells has announced plans to invest Rs 50-60 crore to enhance its air conditioner manufacturing capabilities at its Ghiloth and Sricity locations. The expansion aims to increase the production capacity at each site to 15 lakh units annually. Currently, the Ghiloth plant in Rajasthan produces 9 lakh units per year, while the Sricity plant in Tamil Nadu has a capacity of 11.2 lakh units per year. This strategic investment underscores Havells’ commitment to scaling its production capabilities to meet growing market demands. The company informed stock exchanges of this development on June 13.

Havells recent investment

Havells India has been significantly expanding its manufacturing capacity across various categories to leverage in-house production. Over the last five years, the company has invested more than Rs 2,100 crore in capital expenditure, focusing on its electrical goods portfolio and the Lloyd brand. A notable development is the establishment of the Sricity plant, which has been designed to manage a production capacity of 1 million air conditioning units annually.
