HCLTech to Launch AI/Cloud Lab in Singapore by 2025

HCL Technologies (HCLTech) announced the establishment of a new AI/Cloud Native Lab in Singapore, slated to open in 2025. This facility will become the 5th in HCLTech’s global network, joining existing labs in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and India. 

The lab’s focus will be on driving AI innovation in the region, with support from Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB). Its goal is to aid enterprises across Southeast Asia in accelerating their AI initiatives through HCLTech’s robust AI and Generative AI (GenAI) offerings, such as AI Force and AI Foundry. 

The lab will also play a pivotal role in partnerships with Nanyang Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic to share expertise, support talent development, and facilitate learning for both young and mid-career professionals in the field of AI.

At the event announcing the lab’s launch, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCLTech, joined representatives from Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information, as well as senior members of the EDB, Nanyang Polytechnic, and Singapore Polytechnic. She highlighted the lab’s role in helping enterprises in the region advance their AI capabilities and underscored HCLTech’s commitment to fostering technology-led growth and skill development.

Singapore’s position as a leader in AI adoption is backed by initiatives like the National AI Strategy 2.0, launched in 2023. This national framework outlines the government’s commitment to creating a secure, responsible AI ecosystem. The lab will align with this strategy, enhancing Singapore’s AI landscape across sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

With over four decades of experience in Singapore, HCLTech has contributed significantly to the country’s technological advancements, working with notable clients and projects, including Asia’s first Wi-Fi-based patient tracking system. The new AI/Cloud Native Lab reflects HCLTech’s continued dedication to innovation, growth, and skill-building in Southeast Asia.
