On June 5, 2024, Honasa Consumer Limited, known for its prominent beauty and personal care brand, Mamaearth, announced that Mamaearth is partnering with Swiggy Instamart for a special sampling activity in Delhi NCR in observance of World Environment Day.

Mamaearth will include complimentary seed samples with nearly 30,000 orders delivered via Swiggy Instamart on World Environment Day through this initiative.

The company stated that this collaboration is more than just a campaign; it reflects both brands’ commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Mamaearth believes in the power of small yet impactful actions, aiming to inspire new-age consumers to start their sustainability journey from the comfort of their homes. The vision is a future where every home has a thriving garden, every individual adopts an eco-conscious and sustainable lifestyle, and together, we create a world where harmony between humanity and nature prevails.

Mamaearth chose to partner with Swiggy Instamart to leverage its extensive reach and engage a broad audience, promoting sustainability and eco-conscious living on a larger scale.

The brand believes that goodness begins with our small daily choices, a philosophy reflected in its products and initiatives like Plant Goodness. With this initiative, every order placed on the website results in a tree being planted on behalf of the consumer. This effort promotes afforestation, supports farmer livelihoods, and fosters sustainable coexistence with nature. The brand is dedicated to continuously serving consumers and society, striving to make the world a better place.

Mamaearth launched the Plant Goodness initiative with an ambition to plant 1 million trees by 2025 and has already planted 6 lakh trees. In collaboration with an NGO and farmers for agroforestry, they planted fruit-bearing trees across farmlands in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. These saplings help farmers increase income opportunities through the produce while maintaining their agricultural activities.

This agroforestry approach utilises only part of the land, allowing farmers to continue their farming while creating orchards. This method helps create carbon sinks in agricultural fields, contributing to the goal of ‘Net Zero Carbon’. The brand’s efforts have led to positive environmental changes, including the sequestration of 250,000 tons of carbon and the production of 500,000 tons of oxygen annually, greening 3,500 acres of land.
