Honda has unveiled the electric version of its popular Activa scooter, called Activa E, alongside a new model, the QC1. Both scooters cater to the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation and are set to be manufactured in India.

Activa E: Swappable Battery Electric Scooter

The Activa E is designed as an electric commuter scooter, similar to a 110cc petrol-powered scooter. It uses 2 Honda Mobile Power Pack e, swappable batteries, offering a range of 102 km on a single charge. Key features include:

  • Powerful Motor: A wheel-side motor with a rated output of 4.2 kW and a maximum output of 6.0 kW.
  • Driving Modes: 3 modes—STANDARD, SPORT, and ECON—plus a reverse mode for easy parking.
  • Smart Connectivity: Equipped with Honda RoadSync Duo®, enabling phone calls and navigation via Bluetooth.
  • Stylish Design: Retains the Activa’s iconic look with futuristic touches like LED lights and indicators.

The Activa E will debut in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai in Spring 2025, supported by Honda’s e:Swap battery sharing service, which allows users to exchange drained batteries for fully charged ones.

QC1: Compact Moped for Short Distances

The QC1 is designed for short commutes, such as school runs, and focuses on affordability. It features a 1.5 kWh fixed battery that can be charged at home.
Key highlights include:

  • Compact Motor: A motor with a rated output of 1.2 kW and a maximum of 1.8 kW.
  • Convenience Features: A 5-inch LCD panel displaying speed and battery status, under-seat storage for a helmet, and a USB Type-C charging port.
  • Efficient Design: High-intensity LEDs and a lightweight build make it ideal for everyday use.

Localised Production and Services

Honda has emphasised that these models are tailored for the Indian market, factoring in local preferences and needs. The Honda e:Swap service is already operational in Bengaluru and Delhi, with a Mumbai launch planned in 2025.

Honda’s Vision for Electric Mobility

The Activa E and QC1 are part of Honda’s larger plan to introduce 30 electric two-wheeler models globally by 2030, showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainable transportation.

Honda India Power Products share price is currently trading at ₹3,074.00, up by ₹20.05 or 0.66% as of 1:04 pm on November 27.
