Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd has announced that the globally acclaimed Indian single malt whisky brand, Indri, is now listed and available at premium Tesco supermarkets. This significant milestone was facilitated by independent spirits distributor Mangrove Global, which added Indri to its portfolio earlier this year. Since joining Mangrove, Indri has experienced remarkable success, further bolstered by this partnership with one of the UK’s leading supermarket chains. Indri Trini is available at select Tesco stores with an RRP of £45.

Indri’s Trini, a non-chill filtered single malt whisky, is now available in 79 premium Tesco stores, increasing its visibility and reach to a wider consumer base. This partnership reflects Tesco’s commitment to providing a diverse and premium range of products that cater to an increasingly varied demographic of shoppers. Tesco’s decision to include Indri in its offerings underscores the growing consumer demand for high-quality spirits and a broader selection of world whiskies.

The Channel Director for Grocery at Tesco, Helen Barugh, stated, “The buying team at Tesco are championing a truly diverse whisky range, featuring premium varieties that aren’t just driven by price. This directly responds to what consumers want: better quality spirits, new varieties to try, and a great selection of world whiskies.”

As part of the continued diversification of the whisky category, Indri is among the many world whiskies now available in the UK. This success highlights India’s rich whisky distilling tradition, which dates back to the early 20th century, and positions Indri as a premium offering in the global whisky market.

Stef Holt, Curator of Mangrove’s world whisky portfolio, said, “If we look at global drinking trends, Indian whisky is anything but niche. It’s much beloved domestically and is now winning over whisky enthusiasts worldwide. This latest listing of Indri’s Trini shows that Tesco is listening to its customers, responding to what they want, and advocating for quality world whisky on supermarket shelves. And as a result, more consumers will have the chance to try something different from an award-winning producer that’s already highly respected amongst enthusiasts!”
