Infosys Developing 225 Gen AI Programs, Expanding in Engineering Services

To drive growth and investments, IT major Infosys is expanding its engineering services to tap into the Generative AI market. Chairman, Nandan Nilekani, at the 43rd Annual General Meeting, announced that Infosys is currently developing 225 Generative AI programs. The CEO of Infosys at the meeting also exclaimed that in the past year, the company focused on acquisitions, its engineering services, and the automotive and semi-conductor areas all of which are integrated into these Gen AI programs.

Enhancing growth opportunities:

With these Gen AI programs, Infosys has targeted markets with good growth opportunities. The company, with a market capitalization of Rs. 6.29 Lakh Crores, enhanced its capability by making acquisitions in the past year and focusing on R&D in the engineering space. The company also made an early investment last year in building a strong generative AI offering portfolio through Infosys Topaz. To drive the growth in AI, Infosys acquired InSemi, a leading semiconductor design services provider. The company now aids Infosys in building domain capabilities. The company has also invested in talent acquisition by hiring people with proven generative AI skills as well as upskilling existing engineering talent, With over, 250,000 employees, the company has currently generated over 3 million lines of code using generative AI large language models.

The Programs:

By integrating generative AI components into entire service lines the company has developed 25 playbooks to create impact for clients. It has also built domain-relevant enterprise AI capabilities and created 23 AI industry blueprints to solve industry-specific challenges. The company with the development of these 225 programs aims to build next-generation technology for enterprises, which the chairman believes, will take years to roll out.

Conclusion: Infosys is ranked as a leader in AI services by seven out of eight leading analysts. However, the company continues to grow its services by expanding and making early investments in AI technology to redeem its market share and to gain a head start on sharing the learnings and value to the world.
