JSW Energy Commissions 300 MW Wind Project, Eyes 20 GW Capacity by 2030

On September 15, 2024, JSW Energy Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, has successfully completed a 300 MW wind power project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. This project, awarded by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under Tranche X, is the company’s first greenfield wind power plant for SECI.

The new wind power plant will greatly enhance JSW Energy’s renewable energy portfolio and support its commitment to a sustainable future. Another 150 MW wind project awarded under SECI Tranche X, located in Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu, is also making progress, with 138 MW already up and running.

Currently, JSW Energy has a total installed capacity of 7,726 MW, with 2,114 MW under construction, expected to be completed by the end of FY 2025. Their installed wind capacity now stands at 2,152 MW.

JSW Energy has a total generation capacity of 18.2 GW, which includes wind, solar, hydro, and thermal power plants. The company has a renewable energy pipeline of 8.3 GW, with agreements in place for 2.3 GW. They also have 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery systems and hydro storage projects. JSW Energy aims to reach 20 GW in generation capacity and 40 GWh in energy storage by 2030. Additionally, they have set a goal to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
