JSW Energy Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for a 600 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project, which includes 400 MW allotted under the green shoe option, from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This award is part of MSEDCL’s Phase IV program.

This capacity increase strengthens JSW Energy’s renewable energy portfolio, bringing its total locked-in generation capacity to 18.2 GW. This includes 3.8 GW of hybrid capacity (wind and solar), demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Currently, JSW Energy operates 7.5 GW of generation capacity and aims to increase it to 10 GW by FY25.

The new Wind-Solar Hybrid project is a key step in JSW Energy’s strategic plan to transition towards becoming an energy products and services company. It aligns with the company’s goal of reaching a total generation capacity of 20 GW and a storage capacity of 40 GWh by 2030. The addition of this project supports the company’s target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The company is already progressing with an 8.3 GW pipeline of renewable energy projects, of which 2.3 GW have signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

JSW Energy’s future goals include further growth in the renewable energy sector. Alongside power generation, the company focuses on energy storage systems, including battery energy storage and hydro-pumped storage projects. Its total locked-in energy storage capacity stands at 4.2 GWh, which is expected to expand significantly by the end of the decade.
