On May 30, 2024, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Limited (KIMS) announced that it had entered into a lease agreement of 25 years with Peoples Education Society (PES) through its subsidiary KIMS Hospital Bengaluru Private Limited for setting up a Super Specialty Hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

PES is a reputable university that offers a range of educational programmes across the nation. At its location in Electronics City, Bengaluru, PES is now establishing a teaching hospital and a medical college. PES is constructing and developing the structure to house a hospital with about 350 beds. It consists of a ground floor and 11 upper floors with a total built-up area of 3,50,000 square feet, as well as a utility room and a radiation oncology bunker.

KIMS Hospital Bengaluru Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Limited, also signed a management agreement with PES to exclusively manage the proposed hospital unit under construction at Electronics City, Bengaluru.

KIMS will manage the super speciality hospital properly and efficiently, having exclusive oversight and control over it. KIMS will bill and collect all super speciality hospital revenues, and it will also bear the hospital’s operating costs. The Super Specialty Hospital’s Net Profits for each Financial Year shall belong exclusively to KIMS.

“Our tie-up with PES for their upcoming 350-bed hospital is our second foray into Bangalore and it underscores the strategic importance that we assign to this city. Our first foray in Bangalore (415-bed hospital being built in Mahadevapura) will be operational in the second half of FY 25. We believe there is a tremendous opportunity for an affordable and accessible clinical care brand like KIMS in Bangalore. We are confident that we will be able to replicate the KIMS model in Karnataka, too.” said Dr. B. Bhaskara Rao, CMD, KIMS Hospitals.
