Kuantum Papers Limited has reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 2024. The company achieved an impressive ₹2,807 million in income from operations, ₹382 million in net profit, and ₹716 million in EBITDA.

Despite facing pricing pressures in the market, Kuantum Papers maintained a healthy EBITDA margin of 25.51%, demonstrating its operational resilience.

In Q1 FY25, the company set new records with the highest average finished paper production of 434 tons per day (TPD) and the highest average pulp production of 359 TPD. These milestones highlight the company’s capability to scale its operations effectively.

A significant highlight of the quarter was the development and manufacturing of Kosmo Litho SPX on PM-2, a new product tailored for multi-colour printing applications. This innovation reinforces Kuantum Papers’ commitment to meeting diverse market demands and enhancing product offerings.

Kuantum Papers also made notable advancements in sustainability and efficiency. The “Project Nirmaan” saw the successful installation of MACSuite on Power Boilers, aimed at achieving AI-based operations in the Co-Gen Power Plant. Additionally, the company has begun utilising surface water from a nearby canal, with approval from the Punjab Department of Water Resources, to conserve groundwater and achieve cost savings.

Furthering its social responsibility, Kuantum Papers expanded its social farm forestry initiative by 570 acres, benefiting an additional 333 participants in FY25 Q1.

In its investor presentation the company stated their future growth strategy, which includes debottlenecking and upgrading plant operations to increase production capacity by approximately 50% while optimising costs. Kuantum Papers plans to leverage the single-use plastic ban by developing a range of speciality products for a sustainable future, setting up a Specialty/Tissue paper machine to diversify its product portfolio, and harnessing Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IoT, AI, and cloud computing—to enhance operational efficiency and resource utilisation.
