L&T wins orders up to Rs.2,500 crore from Hindustan Shipyard for the Indian Navy

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a player in India’s infrastructure and engineering sector, has secured a defense contract from Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) to construct two fleet support ships (FSS) for the Indian Navy valued between Rs.1,000 crore and Rs.2,500 crore. These specialized vessels provide logistical and material support to naval task forces at sea. L&T and HSL building fleet support ships together aim to meet strict timelines and boost the economy. 

Scope & Specifications

The fleet support ships under this contract are designed to be over 220 meters long with a displacement of approximately 45,000 tonnes, making them among the largest in the Indian Naval fleet that will provide essential logistics and support at sea. Construction at Kattupalli Shipyard
