Lemon Tree Hotels Limited informed the stock exchanges that the company had signed a new property, Lemon Tree Hotel, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. This strategic move marks an expansion into one of India’s most spiritually significant cities, with the property expected to open in FY 2027.

Managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, the new hotel will cater to the growing demand for quality accommodation in Ujjain, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and religious importance.

Ujjain, often referred to as the “Spiritual Capital of India,” holds a prominent place in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. The city is home to the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple attracts millions of pilgrims annually, making Ujjain a major pilgrimage destination. Additionally, Ujjain plays a central role in the Kumbh Mela, a grand Hindu festival held every 12 years, drawing visitors from across the globe. The city’s blend of ancient temples, historical monuments, and vibrant street markets offers an immersive experience of India’s spiritual and cultural landscape.

The Lemon Tree Hotel, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, will feature 72 well-appointed rooms, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests. The property will include a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, and other public areas designed to enhance the guest experience. Conveniently located, the hotel is approximately 50 kilometres from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Indore and just 4 kilometres from Ujjain Railway Station, making it easily accessible by both public and private transportation.

With the addition of Lemon Tree Hotel, Ujjain, Lemon Tree Hotels Limited continues to strengthen its presence in key destinations across India, offering guests exceptional hospitality in culturally rich and spiritually significant locations.

Commenting on this new addition, the CEO of Managed and Franchise Business at Lemon Tree Hotels, Mr Vilas Pawar, said, “Spiritual destinations have seen a renewed interest, and there has been a marked uptick in the number of pilgrims visiting places of religious and spiritual significance. Being the “Spiritual Capital of India”, Ujjain is on the must-visit list for pilgrims, and we are thrilled to expand our presence in the city.”

The company added that this opening will be in addition to their 4 existing and 2 upcoming hotels in Madhya Pradesh.
