The top Sensex gainers were Tata Motors Ltd, Nestle India and Power Grid Corporation of India, whereas the top Sensex losers were Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank.
The BSE Utilities Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Bankex Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Utilities Index soared 1.50%, led by RattanIndia Power Ltd and Orient Green Power Company while the BSE Bankex Ltd Index was down 0.05% dragged down by Bandhan Bank and ICICI Bank.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.85% and the BSE Small-cap index up 1.04%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Torrent Power Ltd and SJVN Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Suzlon Energy Ltd and EKI Energy Services Ltd.
