Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is upgrading its electric business with the launch of two new SUVs under its much-talked-about ‘Born Electric’ range, the XEV 9e and BE 6e. Unveiled on November 26, 202,4 in Chennai, these e-SUVs are built on Mahindra’s advanced INGLO platform and are expected to hit the roads by January 2025. Deliveries are set to begin between February and March.
The pricing is competitive for this segment. The BE 6e starts at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the XEV 9e is priced at Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). These models cater to buyers looking for premium design and advanced features without going overboard on cost.
The INGLO platform is Mahindra’s new tech base for electric vehicles. It’s a flat-floor skateboard structure that maximizes cabin space by ditching the central tunnel found in traditional cars. Built with ultra-high-strength boron steel, it focuses on safety but also improves handling and stability. This setup also packs high-density battery tech, offering a modular and scalable architecture for EVs.
Both SUVs offer two battery options, 59 kWh and 79 kWh with the larger pack delivering a range of over 500 km in real-world conditions. Fast charging? 20-80% charge takes just 20 minutes with a 175 kW DC fast charger.
Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd stock is currently trading at Rs.2,999.30, the stock is up 0.47% today, with gains of 76.09% year-to-date and 91.52% over the past year.
Mahindra’s new EVs showcase its plan to compete in India’s growing electric vehicle market, blending futuristic design, tech, and affordability.
