Indian frontline indices were trading flat, while broader markets showed significant investor optimism, with both the BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices trading 0.75% higher. With 2,083 shares rising on the BSE and 1,498 shares declining, the advance-decline ratio strongly remained in favour of advances. The real estate, oil and gas, and energy sectors recorded notable gains.

At 1:10 pm, the BSE Sensex edged higher by 0.06%, reaching a level of 64,978. The Nifty 50 index rose 0.19% to the 19,443 level. On the Sensex, Asian Paints, Titan and Tata Consultancy Services were among the top gainers, whereas ICICI Bank, NTPC and Power Grid Corporation of India were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:    

Alpa Laboratories Ltd: Under its own brand and for other Indian and multinational corporations, the company manufactures a wide range of pharmaceutical finished dosage forms. The product line offers a diverse selection of ethical, generic, and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. Shares saw a 20-fold increase in trading volume, driving them more than 13% higher.

HMT Ltd: The company manufactures food processing machines, machine tools, and provides services to clients all over the world. On the BSE, shares recorded a 16-fold surge in volume and were locked at the 2% upper circuit at Rs 51.23.

Prince Pipes and Fittings Ltd: It specializes in manufacturing world-class plumbing, sewerage, and drainage piping systems for both residential and commercial applications, as well as CPVC piping systems for industrial applications. Shares soared over 14% with a 13-fold surge in volume.

North Eastern Carrying Corporation Ltd: The company serves bulk and retail customers with freight transportation services, primarily in the Full Truckload (FTL) segment, as well as other services such as warehousing and packing. On the BSE, shares climbed more than 18% to a 52-week high of Rs 29.67 per share.
