Indian frontline indices started the session on a downward note, witnessing substantial declines in the metals, utilities, and power sectors. In contrast, BSE Telecommunications and BSE Realty showed strength, pleasing investors with gains of 1% each. With 1,889 shares rising on the BSE and 1,589 shares declining, the advance-decline ratio remained in favour of advances.

At 12:50 pm, the BSE Sensex declined 0.25%, reaching a level of 63,714. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.22% to the 19,037 level. On the Sensex, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers, whereas Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints and Nestle India were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:   

Mahalaxmi Rubtech Ltd: It is a textile manufacturing company engaged in the production and marketing of traditional textile and technical textile products. Shares have witnessed a 25-fold increase in trading volume and surged by around 5% to reach an intraday high of Rs 202 per share on the BSE.

Nureca Ltd: The company operates in the home healthcare and wellness products business under the ‘Dr Trust’ brand. Its shares have attracted significant buying interest, surging by over 11% and experiencing an eightfold increase in trading volume.

Aarti Surfactants Ltd: The company specializes in manufacturing surfactants and specialty products, catering to various sectors, including Home & Personal Care, Industrial Applications, Agro, and Oil industries, both in India and internationally. Shares have seen a significant increase in volume, exceeding 8 times the usual levels, and are currently trading at Rs 657, with a 52-week high of Rs 824 on the BSE.

Mazda Ltd: The company specializes in manufacturing engineering goods such as vacuum products, evaporators, and pollution control equipment. Shares have experienced a notable surge in volume, reaching a new 52-week high of Rs 1,444.15 per share on the BSE.
