Nibe Limited announced that its subsidiary, Nibe Space Private Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several leading infrastructure and defence companies, as well as startups in India. The MoU is to form a consortium aimed at building and operating a Private Earth Observation Constellation and corresponding ground segment. This collaboration is intended to provide services such as leasing constellations, offering images, and providing analytics as a service.

The consortium consists of some of the most renowned companies in the space and defence sectors, including Larsen & Toubro Limited, Centum Electronics Limited, Space Fields Private Limited, SISIR Radar Private Limited, CYRAN AI Solutions Private Limited, AgniKul Cosmos Private Limited, DV2JS Innovation LLP, and global partners like Thales Alenia Space (France) and Thales India Private Limited. This wide-ranging collaboration underscores Nibe Space’s ambition to deliver advanced solutions in Earth observation and space technology.

The main objective of this agreement is to bring together the expertise, equipment, services, skills, systems, and support services from each participating entity in the consortium. The goal is to jointly develop and operate a private Earth Observation Constellation, which will help offer advanced Earth observation solutions through satellite imagery and data analytics. The agreement specifies that the consortium will work collaboratively to ensure that the project operates efficiently and meets the demands of the industry.

Under the terms of the MoUs, the collaboration is set for an initial period of 12 to 24 months, during which the companies involved will work towards signing long-term definitive agreements. These agreements will lay the groundwork for supplying equipment, technical services, and support systems to enable the project’s successful execution.

This strategic collaboration could position Nibe Space Private Limited and its partners at the forefront of the Earth observation sector, as it aims to leverage satellite data for industries ranging from agriculture and forestry to urban planning, disaster management, and defence. The partnership with key players, including global space technology providers, highlights the growing capabilities of Indian companies in space innovation, aligning with India’s broader goals of advancing its presence in the global space industry.
