As per the latest data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), equity mutual fund inflows for December witnessed a decline of 14.18% on a month-on-month (MoM) basis. Despite this drop, specific categories within equity-oriented mutual funds—midcap and smallcap funds—showed robust growth during November.
Midcap mutual funds continued to attract investor interest in November, with inflows reaching ₹4,883.40 crore. This reflects a growth of 4.38% MoM compared to ₹4,682.90 crore recorded in October.
Smallcap mutual funds outperformed their midcap counterparts in terms of MoM growth, registering a 9% increase in November. The inflows amounted to ₹4,111.89 crore, compared to ₹3,771.97 crore in October.
The data highlights a clear trend: while the overall equity mutual fund inflows dipped, midcap and smallcap funds saw net inflows.
