The largest power utility in India, NTPC, has 76475.68 MW of installed capacity overall (including joint ventures). In Bikaner, Rajasthan, NTPC has declared that a 32.90 MW solar plant is now operational. The third section of the 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) Solar PV Project, with a capacity of 32.90 MW, is officially put into commercial operation on October 31, 2024, at 0:00 a.m.
This brings the NTPC Group’s installed and commercial capacity to 76,475.68 MW. In September, the 150 MW first-part capacity and the 98.78 MW second-part capacity were approved for commercial use. The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy, is the owner and operator of the Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) Solar PV Project.
NTPC’s consolidated net profit grew by 14% year over year, from Rs 4,726.4 crore in Q2FY24 to Rs 5,380.2 crore in Q2FY25. Nevertheless, overall revenue dropped to Rs 45,197.8 crore this quarter from Rs 45,384.6 crore in the same quarter last year. The company also authorized the first interim dividend for FY25, which was Rs 2.50 per share on the face value of paid-up equity shares worth Rs 10 each. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on November 18, 2024.
NTPC Ltd.’s stock is currently trading at Rs. 410.95, down a little from today’s intraday low of Rs. 408.70.
