Ola Electric Mobility Limited reaffirmed its commitment to transforming India into a global EV and new energy hub by announcing a series of new products and future plans across its EV and energy verticals.
The company entered the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of its Roadster series, comprising the Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro models. These motorcycles, designed with a minimalist, futuristic aesthetic, are built on Ola’s scalable, modular, integrated platform. Additionally, Ola teased its upcoming Sportster and Arrowhead models.
A significant milestone was the announcement that Ola will integrate its indigenously developed Bharat 4680 cells into its vehicles starting in Q1 FY26. This strategic move positions Ola to gain a competitive edge through highly efficient cost structures. The Bharat 4680 cell offers several advantages, including five times more energy density than traditional 2170 cells, a wider operating temperature range, extended lifespan, and faster charging capabilities.
Ola also showcased its upcoming Gen-3 platform, a cutting-edge EV platform designed to enhance scalability, performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. To further elevate the user experience, Ola teased MoveOS 5, the latest iteration of its operating software. This update will introduce new features such as Group Navigation, Live Location Sharing, Road Trip Mode, Smart Charging, Smart Park, TPMS alerts, voice assistant integration, and predictive insights powered by Krutrim AI. The beta version of MoveOS 5 will be available to users via an OTA update around Diwali.
Speaking at the event, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CMD of Ola Electric, said, “Today, 2/3rd of India’s 2W market consists of motorcycles, and with Ola’s entry into this segment, EV penetration is poised to further accelerate in the Indian 2W segment. We have already been successful in accelerating EV adoption in the scooter segment, and with our futuristic portfolio of products, we are now focused on supercharging EV penetration through our motorcycles. Coupled with the integration of our cells in our vehicles starting early next year, we are determined to chart a new course for mass EV adoption across India.”
