Paradeep Phosphates Introduces India’s First Biogenic Nano Urea and Nano DAP

On June 12, 2024, Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) informed in an exchange filing that the company is introducing India’s first biogenic Nano Urea and Nano Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) under the Jai Kisaan Navratna brand.

Jai Kisaan Navratna Nano Shakti Nano Urea, with 8% Nitrogen, and Jai Kisaan Navratna Nano Shakti Nano DAP, with 6% Nitrogen and 16% P2O5, offer farmers numerous advantages.

Nano-technology ensures greater surface area for nutrient absorption and quicker dissolution in water, enhancing nutrient availability. Controlled nutrient release and reduced leaching rates minimise environmental impact, while smaller nanoparticle sizes improve plant nutrient absorption.

PPL’s trials, including those at leading Agriculture Universities, research centres, and Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), have shown Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) exceeding 90%, surpassing traditional urea’s 30-35%. With over 4,000 successful field trials conducted in the past two years, farmers have witnessed enhanced crop response from these nano products.

PPL has been working assiduously on balanced fertilisation and Nutrient Use Efficiency

(NUE) for over the last four decades towards its commitment to ‘Healthier Soils, Healthier People’. NUE is a problem worldwide due to the poor efficiency of applied nutrients. Fertilisers are vital agricultural products that improve crop production, and in farming ecosystems, fertiliser contributes up to 35-40% of crop productivity.

Paradeep Phosphates Ltd mentioned that it will ensure widespread accessibility of this technology to farmers throughout the nation. They added that Jai Kisaan Navratna TSP 46% P would improve fertiliser affordability for farmers by reducing procurement costs of additional nitrogen units. Additionally, Triple superphosphate’s (TSP) lower subsidy requirement than DAP contributes to a reduction in subsidy burden while aiding in nutrient application rebalancing.

With the launch of Jai Kisaan Navratna Nano Shakti Nano Urea, Nano Shakti Nano DAP and Jai Kisaan Navratna TSP 46% P, PPL strengthens its commitment to balanced fertilisation and Nutrient Use Efficiency.
