Patel Engineering Limited, in consortium with a joint venture partner, has been awarded a significant contract valued at ₹317.60 crore by the Office of the Executive Engineer, Government of Maharashtra. The project entails the construction of a water-lifting arrangement for the initial phase of the Jigaon project, which has been submerged. The scope of work encompasses civil, mechanical, and electrical components, along with ancillary operations.
The project, strategically located in Maharashtra, is slated for completion within a 24-month timeline. PEL will hold a 35% stake in the joint venture undertaking the execution. The contract involves the construction of a water lifting system for LIS 1 to 12, including the development of an approach channel and rising main, installation of pumping machinery, the establishment of a switchyard, and associated civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
