The Nifty closed the session with an increase of 0.16%, closely followed by the Sensex, which registered a gain of 0.08%. Adding to the positive sentiment, the Nifty Midcap demonstrates a notable upswing of 0.98%, while the Nifty Smallcap outperforms with a substantial surge of 1.15%. 

Leading the gains in sectoral indices are Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Metal, and Nifty Realty, while Nifty FMCG and Nifty Media stand out as top performers. Zooming in on individual stocks within the Nifty 50, noteworthy gainers include UPL, Hindalco, and ONGC, while Asian Paints, ITC, and Coal India face losses.  

The following penny stocks are likely to be in focus on Friday, September 15, 2023:     

Andrew Yule & Company– The company witnessed a robust price and volume breakout, resulting in the stock zooming and getting locked at 20% upper circuit, reaching an intraday high of Rs 34.90 per share on the NSE. This price rally was backed by a substantial increase in trading volume. The scrip witnessed some profit booking and closed up by 15.81% at Rs 33.70. Andrew Yule & Company Limited is a CPSE in the medium and light engineering sector engaged in manufacturing of tea, transformers, regulators or rectifiers, circuit breakers, switches, industrial fans, tea machinery and undertakes turnkey jobs. 

Sakhti Sugars – The counter experienced a notable increase in buying interest as the scrip surged more than 14%, reaching an intraday high of Rs 36.40 per share on NSE. This surge in price was accompanied by a significant rise in trading volume for the scrip. Sakthi Sugars Limited is engaged in the business of manufacturing sugar, industrial alcohol, power and soya products.  

Norben Tea & Exports- The stock experienced a substantial surge in its stock price, with the stock zooming and getting locked at 5% upper circuit, indicating a strong breakout in both price and volume. The stock achieved an impressive intraday high of Rs 10.75 per share on the NSE. Norben Tea & Exports Limited is engaged in the business of growing and manufacturing of tea and providing commission.
