On June 19, 2024, the Nifty 50 fell 0.18% and closed at 23,516, and the Sensex was flat at 77,314, reflecting a rise of 0.02%. 

Top Gainers and Losers

On the sectoral front, Nifty Private Bank, Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services, and Nifty Nifty Financial Services 25/50 ended in the green. Meanwhile, Nifty Realty, Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty Oil and Gas, and Nifty Media were declining. The top gainers were Zomato, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank, which showed positive movement. On the other hand, HAL, Titan, ABB, and BEL were the top losers of the day.

Delta Corporation and Zomato were in the news on June 19, 2024.

  • According to reports, the GST council will likely bring a key amendment for online gaming companies, whereby the central and state governments can waive GST that is not being paid due to “legal ambiguity.” As a result, Delts Corp shares rose 17% during the session.
  • Zomato’s share price moved 5% due to the reports claiming a discussion between Zomato and Paytm for the purchase of the movie ticket business of Paytm
