The benchmark indices, Nifty 50 and Sensex maintained a positive streak for the third consecutive trading session. Nifty 50 settled at 22,196 with a gain of 0.34%, while the Sensex closed at 73,057, with a rise of 0.48%. Experts believe that the Nifty 50 is moving towards a target of 22,500 and technical indicators such as the Bollinger band indicate a positive price action. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) sold securities worth ₹1,335 crore, and Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) showed buying activity worth ₹1,491 crore.
Nifty Media, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Bank, and Nifty Realty sectors witnessed gains in the sectoral landscape. Conversely, Nifty Realty, Nifty IT, Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal and Nifty Consumer Durables saw declines. The top gainers were Power Grid, Zomato, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank, while the top losers included Hero Motocorp, Cholamandalam Investment & Finance, Bajaj Auto and Eicher Motors.
