The Indian stock market broke its three-day positive streak, and the benchmark index, Nifty 50, closed lower at 22,055 with a fall of 0.64%. Sensex also dropped 0.59% to 72,623. As per experts, day traders may see resistance at 22,150. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) bought securities worth ₹284 crore, and Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) sold securities worth ₹411 crore.
Nifty Realty, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Metal and Nifty FMCG witnessed gains in the sectoral landscape. Conversely, Nifty Media, Nifty IT, Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Financial Services 25/50 saw declines. The top gainers were ABB, DLF, Tata Steel and Dmart., while the top losers included Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Trent, Bosch and Indian Oil Corporation.
