REC Ltd Announces Formation of Subsidiaries for Power Transmission Projects in Rajasthan

On May 15, 2024, REC Ltd informed the stock exchanges that the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), had incorporated two wholly-owned subsidiaries, namely Bikaner A Power Transmission Limited and Bikaner B Power Transmission Limited.

Bikaner A Power Transmission Limited and Bikaner B Power Transmission Limited were incorporated on May 14, 2024. The authorised capital of Bikaner A Power Transmission Limited is ₹5,00,000, and the paid-up capital is ₹5,00,000. The authorised capital of Bikaner B Power Transmission Limited is ₹5,00,000, and the paid-up capital is ₹5,00,000.

Both companies will belong to the Power sector. REC Ltd stated that the Ministry of Power, through a gazette notification dated March 15, 2024, allocated a transmission project. REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited is appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) to select a bidder for the transmission system for power evacuation from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-3: 6 GW) [Bikaner complex]: Part A. Consequently, Bikaner A Power Transmission Limited was incorporated on May 14, 2024. Upon selecting the successful bidder as per Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines, the company will be transferred to them along with all assets and liabilities.

REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited was appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) to select a bidder for the transmission system for power evacuation from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-3: 6 GW) [Bikaner complex]: Part B as well. Therefore, Bikaner B Power Transmission Limited was incorporated on May 14, 2024. Upon selecting the successful bidder according to Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines, the company will be transferred to them along with all assets and liabilities.

In April 2024, REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited incorporated another wholly owned subsidiary Bhadla-III Power Transmission Limited with an authorised capital of ₹5,00,000 and the paid up capital of ₹5,00,000. This was incorporated for the Additional Transmission system for the evacuation of power from Bhadla-III PS as part of the Rajasthan REZ Phase-III scheme (20 GW).
