Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) was incorporated in 2003 by the Government of India. It is engaged in implementing a wide range of rail infrastructure projects as assigned by the Ministry of Railways (MoR). These projects include doubling tracks, gauge conversion, constructing new lines, railway electrification, building major bridges, workshops, and production units. Additionally, RVNL shares freight revenue with the Indian Railways according to the concession agreement with the Ministry of Railways.

RVNL Secures Major Contract from South Eastern Railways

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) has been awarded a significant contract valued at Rs 192 crore by the South Eastern Railway. The letter of award was received on Wednesday, marking a pivotal step in upgrading the electric traction system in Jharkhand. This project encompasses the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 132-kilowatt traction substation, along with sectioning and sub-sectioning posts on the Rajkhaswan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of the Chakradharpur division. This upgrade is crucial to achieving the ambitious 3,000 million-tonne loading target. RVNL is tasked with completing this extensive project within 18 months.

RVNL Ventures into Israel

In addition to its domestic successes, RVNL has recently expanded its operations internationally. Last week, the state-owned company ventured into Israel, aiming to pursue various infrastructure projects. This strategic move highlights RVNL’s growing footprint and its commitment to leveraging its expertise on a global scale. Furthermore, the company has secured orders for metro rail projects and mainline railway works within India in July, reinforcing its position as a key player in the rail infrastructure sector.
