As we prepare to pull the curtain over 2020, there are too many expectations from 2021. In the stock market, we can expect lots of action to take place. The stock market has made sincere efforts for recovery after experiencing a setback during the initial months, especially during the second half of the year. SENSEX set new record highs where the IPO segment made a strong turnaround. One can hope the robust trend will continue in the next year. The news of COVID-19 vaccine discovery will give the tailwind to the market it needs. Overall, 2021 looks like a good year to begin one’s investor’s journey.

Share Market Holidays In 2021

The Indian bourses remain operative in most days of the year, except Saturdays and Sundays, which are weekly off days, and on few national and religious holidays. There are twelve days of national importance, including religious occasions, when the stock market remains closed. Investors plan their trades around these days to avoid any untoward implications. New investors must take note of share market holidays and refrain from buying and selling around these days.

In 2021, the share market will remain closed on a few calendar holidays, when no trading will occur.  We are presenting the following list of share market holidays in 2021, which you can keep handy while planning your investment.

In 2021, the stock market will have 14 trading holidays, including five extended weekends because the holidays are falling either on Friday or Monday.
