SJVN Ltd Shares Jumps on SJVN Green Energy 200 MW Wind Power Project

On Monday, State-owned SJVN Ltd arm SJVN Green Energy bagged a 200 MW wind power project entailing an investment of Rs 1,400 crore in a tariff-based competitive bidding conducted by Solar Energy Corporation of India. This wind power project will be developed by SJVN Green Energy anywhere in India through EPC (engineering procurement construction) contract, a BSE filing stated.

SJVN Limited is an India-based company, principally engaged in the generation of electricity and operates through the generation and sale of power segment. Its businesses include thermal power, hydropower, wind power, solar power, power transmission, consultancy, and power trading.

SJVN Ltd is currently trading at Rs 38.72, up by 0.60 points or 1.58% from its previous closing of Rs 38.08 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 38.99 and has touched a high and low of Rs 39.59 and Rs 38.52 respectively. So far 16,60,580 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value of Rs 10 has touched a 52-week high of Rs 42.35 on December 05, 2022, and a 52-week low of Rs 25.45 on June 20, 2022. The current market cap of the company is Rs 15,137.57 crore. The promoters holding in the company stood at 5.81%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.12% and 7.41% respectively.

The shares of this company are trading at a P/E of 11X which is higher than its 3-year median P/E. The company has maintained a healthy average (3-year) RoE and RoCE of 11% and 10.7%, respectively. The company has a 3-year compounded sales and profit growth of 3% and negative 1%, respectively. The company is also having very less debt with an interest coverage ratio of 5.23X.

At present, the company is actively involved in the execution of three hydro projects total of 2,059 MW in Nepal.
