On July 24, 2024, Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) announced via a stock exchange filing that it had extended its partnership with Netomnia, one of the UK’s fastest-growing network operators.

Over the past 5 years, STL has been a trusted partner for Netomnia. So far, STL has deployed around 12,000 ckm of optical fibre cable, reaching about 850,000 premises. This effort has helped Netomnia provide reliable connectivity to hard-to-reach, underserved communities in the region.

Netomnia has the sixth-largest network and the third-fastest build rate in the UK. It is constructing ultra-fast broadband networks across all four UK countries, aiming to connect 500,000 homes and businesses each year and 2 million premises by 2025.

STL’s Role and Capabilities

STL, with nearly 20 years of experience in the region and 2 plants in Italy, works closely with its customers to meet Netomnia’s needs for rapid rollouts and high-performance networks. STL’s G.657 A2 Multitube Micro Optical Fibre cables are designed to be blown into micro ducts within larger ducts, cutting installation costs. Their ultra-lightweight aerial cables are ideal for duct and overhead applications, ensuring efficient and reliable fibre deployments.

Glass to Gigabit Connectivity

STL’s innovative, tech-driven approach to fibre deployment increases speed and efficiency for every home connected. To meet Netomnia’s requirements, STL uses its Glass to Gigabit Connectivity capability, covering everything from glass preform, fibre, and cable production to optical connectivity and smart fibre deployment solutions.

Regarding this partnership, Rahul Puri, Sales Head – APAC, EMEA and India, STL, said: “For us, our customers are at the centre. Their ambition is our ambition. Their problems are our problems. This is what our capability, team and products are built around. Our partnership with Netomnia has been a special one, and we are confident that we will continue to co-create and co-innovate with Netomnia in the years to come.”
