STL Partners with Connexin to Deliver Ultrafast Broadband to Underserved Communities

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), a leading provider of optical and digital solutions, announced a strategic partnership with Connexin to deliver high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities in Nottinghamshire, UK.

STL will leverage its expertise in Smart Fibre Deployment Services to support Connexin in fulfilling a UK government contract valued at £58 million. This initiative, part of the government’s flagship Project Gigabit, aims to bridge the digital divide by connecting approximately 34,300 premises in rural Nottinghamshire and West Lincolnshire with gigabit-speed broadband.

STL’s Role in the Project

STL will focus on connecting roughly 12,000 premises in hard-to-reach areas like Kirkby in Ashfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Annesley, and Newark on Trent. These communities will witness a significant digital transformation by introducing Connexin’s full fibre-to-the-premise (FTTP) infrastructure, enabling residents to access internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps. STL’s services will encompass building, operating, and maintaining this advanced gigabit broadband network.
