Swiggy and Zomato, two of India’s leading food delivery giants, are intensifying their rivalry by venturing into the event and experience segment. While Zomato recently launched District, a standalone app for ticket bookings and entertainment, Swiggy has unveiled Scenes, which are integrated within its super app to focus on live experiences.
Swiggy’s Scenes offers users access to a variety of events, including New Year’s Eve parties, DJ nights, live music shows, and other experiences hosted by partner restaurants. Unlike Zomato’s standalone app District, which covers a broader range of services such as movie ticket bookings, Scenes is fully integrated into Swiggy’s ecosystem. This strategic choice allows the Bengaluru-based company to enhance user convenience while leveraging its existing platform.
Scenes mark Swiggy’s attempt to diversify its offerings and tap into new revenue streams. The company has been witnessing impressive growth, reporting 17.1 million Monthly.
In addition to Scenes, Swiggy has introduced One BLCK, an invite-only premium membership aimed at high-value users. This service offers exclusive benefits such as faster food deliveries, an on-time delivery guarantee, and perks like complimentary cocktails or desserts when dining out. Members also gain access to priority support through dedicated customer care agents.
As of 16 December 2:07 PM, the shares of recently listed Swiggy Ltd. are trading at ₹571.80 per share with a surge of 7.43% from its previous day’s closing price. Over the last month, the stock has seen a surge of 36.19%.
