Tata Elxsi has announced to the stock exchanges that it will use Wind River®’s Studio Developer to enhance its DevSecOps processes. This partnership aims to optimise Tata Elxsi’s development workflows and bolster its capabilities in creating software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
Wind River Studio Developer is an edge-to-cloud DevSecOps platform designed to expedite the development, deployment, and management of systems in critical industries. It helps software teams adopt cloud-native development, enabling software-defined features to evolve and improve over time. The platform boosts productivity and efficiency by utilising scalable cloud resources, standardising automation pipelines, facilitating cloud-based collaboration, and improving traceability throughout the software development process.
As the automotive industry transitions to cloud-connected, software-defined vehicles, it faces complex challenges that demand effective DevSecOps strategies to manage the software lifecycle. Cloud-native tools and techniques offer rapid innovation but must be tailored to address the specific needs of intelligent systems and embedded software. Wind River’s tools help minimise disruptions and enhance existing investments by allowing teams to progressively refine their workflows and processes while leveraging their current software and IT infrastructure.
“Wind River Studio Developer will allow us to deliver significant improvements in our software workflow productivity and efficiency in our SDV journey,” said G. Nambi Ganesh, General Manager and Head of Automotive, Tata Elxsi.
He further added, “Our collaboration with Wind River will significantly help us enable customers to achieve their SDV goals as the flexible and collaborative nature of the platform will make it possible to simplify and accelerate the DevSecOps process without compromising on safety, security and other key requirements.”
In 2022, Wind River was acquired by Aptiv, a global leader in mobility technology. By integrating Wind River’s cloud-native platforms into Aptiv’s Smart Vehicle Architecture™, the combined entities are empowering customers to fully realise the potential of software-defined vehicles throughout their entire lifecycle.
“Industry-leading organisations are using Studio Developer to lower embedded software lifecycle costs, shorten time-to-market, and capture new revenue opportunities. SDVs need to maintain high quality standards in an extremely complex system, making our virtual lab capabilities especially valuable for automated testing and validation pipelines that incorporate both software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop approaches,” said Sandeep Modhvadia, Chief Product Officer, Wind River.
Benjamin Lyon, Chief Technology Officer, Aptiv, said, “By harnessing the power of Studio Developer, Tata Elxsi will significantly increase software development efficiency with an innovative platform that addresses the complex future mobility requirements and evolving demands of software-defined vehicles.”
