Tata Motors’ Domestic Sales Increase by 1% in November 2024

Tata Motors’ Domestic Sales Increase by 1% in November 2024

Tata Motors Limited reported total sales of 74,753 vehicles in the domestic and international markets for November 2024, up from 74,172 units in November 2023.

Total Domestic Sales 

In November 2024, total domestic sales amounted to 73,246 units, marking a 1% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to 72,647 units sold in November 2023.

Commercial Vehicles 

The commercial vehicles (CV) category saw a mixed performance. Domestic CV sales reached 26,183 units, slightly down by 1% compared to 26,579 units in November 2023. In the heavy commercial vehicles (HCV) truck segment, sales declined by 8%, dropping to 7,586 units from 8,253 units in the previous year. Intermediate and light commercial vehicles (ILMCV) trucks remained stable with 4,374 units sold, reflecting no significant growth YoY.

Passenger carriers within the CV segment showed a significant growth of 42%, with sales increasing to 3,022 units compared to 2,130 units last year. Meanwhile, sales of small commercial vehicles (SCVs) and pickups fell by 5%, totaling 11,201 units against 11,811 units in November 2023. International business (IB) CV sales remained flat, with 1,453 units sold compared to 1,450 units a year earlier, contributing to an overall 1% decline in total CV sales at 27,636 units versus 28,029 units in November 2023.

Domestic sales of MH&ICV in November 2024, including trucks and buses, stood at 12,481 units, compared to 12,303 units in November 2023. The Total sales for MH&ICV domestic and international business in November 2024, including trucks and buses, stood at 13,230 units compared to 12,895 units in November 2023.

Passenger Vehicles

In November 2024, total passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including electric vehicles (EVs), reached 47,117 units, reflecting a 2% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 46,143 units in November 2023. Domestic PV sales, including EVs, rose by 2% to 47,063 units, up from 46,068 units the previous year.

However, international business (IB) PV sales declined significantly, with only 54 units sold, marking a 28% drop from 75 units in November 2023. Electric vehicle (EV) sales, comprising both domestic and IB markets, grew by 9% YoY, totalling 5,202 units compared to 4,761 units in the same period last year.

On December 2, 2024, Tata Motors share price opened at ₹787.30, touching the day’s high at ₹795.20, as of 9:37 AM on the NSE.
