On July 31, 2024, Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) announced the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary, BMW TechWorks India Private Limited (BTIPL). The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, issued the Certificate of Incorporation for BTIPL on the same day.

Tata Technologies Limited, the promoter of BTIPL, will hold 100% of the subsidiary’s share capital. BTIPL is classified as a related party, and upon the allotment of shares, TTL will retain complete ownership of BTIPL. The subsidiary has been established with an Authorized Share Capital of ₹10,00,000, divided into 1,00,000 equity shares with a nominal value of ₹10 each. TTL will own the entire paid-up share capital of BTIPL.

BTIPL’s primary industry focus is on providing software support and maintenance, along with other information technology and computer service activities. The establishment of BTIPL aligns with Tata Technologies’ strategic objectives of enhancing its technological capabilities and supporting its global clients in the automotive sector.

The primary objective of BTIPL is to support the BMW Group in advancing its engineering of premium products and delivering exceptional digital experiences to its customers. BTIPL is set to play a critical role in the digital transformation journey of the BMW Group by focusing on the development and delivery of automotive software solutions. This includes software-defined vehicle (SDV) solutions, which are integral to BMW’s premium vehicles, as well as broader digital transformation solutions for business IT.

The incorporation of BTIPL marks a significant step in strengthening Tata Technologies’ position in the automotive technology space and reinforcing its partnership with BMW Group. By leveraging BTIPL’s expertise in automotive software and digital solutions, Tata Technologies aims to contribute to the evolution of advanced automotive technologies and enhance digital experiences for BMW’s clientele.
