Tejas Networks, established in 2000, is a Bengaluru-based telecommunications and networking company in India. The firm focuses on the design and manufacture of optical networking products, as well as wireless solutions for 4G and 5G technologies and carrier-grade routers used by telecom operators, internet service providers, and defence networks.
On December 10, 2024, Tejas Networks revealed a 3-year partnership with Vodafone Idea to supply optical transmission products aimed at improving network performance to facilitate the deployment of 4G and 5G services across various areas.
Jagbir Singh, the Chief Technology Officer, commented, “As VIL accelerates its nationwide 4G and 5G rollouts, it’s crucial to enhance our backhaul network to ensure it is scalable, robust, and future-ready to effectively handle the anticipated surge in data traffic and bandwidth demands.”
This project is anticipated to help Vodafone Idea expand and establish a comprehensive 4G and 5G network throughout India.
Anand Athreya, the CEO and Managing Director of Tejas Networks, remarked that the company provides products tailored to the changing needs of communication service providers such as Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), all while ‘substantially lowering costs and energy usage per bit.’
