Tips Music Limited, in collaboration with the Sterling Reserve Music Project, has unveiled an ambitious initiative, Tips Take 2. This project aims to breathe new life into some of Bollywood’s most cherished songs, delivering a bold and modern twist to beloved classics from the 90s.
Hari Nair, CEO of Tips Music Ltd., highlighted the innovative approach of this collaboration. According to Nair, Tips Take 2 is the first branded intellectual property (IP) developed by the company’s recently launched Brand & Partnerships division. The initiative focuses on reimagining iconic hits while also providing bespoke content and brand integrations across music and film.
“Tips Take 2 is just the beginning of our journey into branded IPs, and we look forward to redefining audience engagement with innovative entertainment solutions,” Nair stated.
The project debuted on December 9, 2024, with a reimagined version of Sambhala Hai Maine, originally sung by Kumar Sanu. The new rendition features the powerhouse voice of Dev Negi, alongside actors Heli Daruwala and Parth Samthaan, whose on-screen chemistry brings a fresh and electrifying vibe to this classic tune.
Bikram Basu, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Allied Blenders and Distillers, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “The Sterling Reserve Music Project Take 2 with Tips will have people cheering for sure.”
Tips Take 2 is more than just a tribute to the past; it’s a platform that honours established artists while nurturing emerging talent. With three carefully selected tracks, this project underscores the evolving landscape of Indian music and offers a unique blend of nostalgia and innovation.
The first track, Sambhala Hai Maine, is now available on all major music platforms, promising listeners a journey into a world of musical nostalgia, reimagined for today’s audience.
The share price of Tips Music has more than doubled on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. However, the stock experienced profit booking in December, resulting in a 5% decline on a month-to-date (MTD) basis.
Founded in 1988, Tips Music has been a cornerstone of India’s music industry. Known for its vast catalogue of over 31,000 songs spanning various languages and genres, the label has produced iconic hits from films like Rangeela, Taal, and Race. Beyond reviving classics, Tips Music has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of renowned artists, including Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, and more.
